Bill
McPherson was an employee of NCR Corporation.
Bill was the Manager of NCR Corporation
Purchasing Department. He was a avid golfer.
Bill loved the game of golf and he played as
much as anyone Art new. When Bill died in 1980
Art Wiegand named the tournament after
Bill. If anyone has a picture of Bill McPherson please send it to gary.fleck@engenio.com. I will post it on this page.
In 2005 the
Iraq War took one of our employee's son's life. Tim Millsap is the son of Kenny &
Rosie Millsap. Tim played in the McPherson
Memorial many times. Rosie and Kenny is the only
Husband and Wife to win this
tournament. The McPherson trophy is by far the hardest trophy to win in this tournament and Kenny won this trophy in the same year (2005) that Tim gave his life for his country. I still wonder today if Tim helped pick the winning holes
out of the random hole hat?
Many of the
players of this event asked if we could honor
Tim in someway. So the McPherson Tournament was
renamed in 2005 to The Bill McPherson / Tim Millsap Memorial.
